Her mission is to teach students the beauty and benefits of dance and that its value has nothing to do with winning awards. Shanon is also a teacher aide in a self-contained classroom in the Amherst school district where she has greatly benefited from working with children with vision impairment, autism, and Down’s Syndrome. Shanon has been a member of our great faculty for many years and many more to come.
Shanon began dancing at DDD in 1976 at the age of 3. Her love for teaching began as a class assistant at age 14 and by age 18 she was teaching her own classes. Shanon has won numerous choreography, entertainment, and high score awards. However, her greatest achievements are celebrated each and every day, in the classroom at the studio, making artists out of each and every dancer.
